In a pretty varied career I’ve built up some specialisations. I still practice all of them professionally and on the side. I’ve also been a mentor to startups in some formal capacity or other for about seven years now, also focusing on these specialisations. I started mentoring after I stopped with my own startup (more on that here) and left to join Yammer, another startup. I started mentoring at Seedcamp, then after Yammer was acquired by Microsoft, moved to supporting Microsoft’s own efforts and their startups. I’ve been doing that ever since. I focus on a few key areas:
Customer Success
Their success with your product/service.
- Building, Growing, Innovating
- Customer Outcomes & Insights
- Customer Advocacy
Employee Experience
What happens inside is reflected outside.
- Employee Technologies
- Community and Culture
- Connection with Customer Experience
Digital Marketing
Intelligent, useful and relevant.
- Content Marketing
- Product and Market Positioning
- Branding
Contact me if you’d like to have a chat about any of these topics and see what some have said about me. If we’ve established a fit and matched needs and capability, we can work on a program which should generally cover time duration, frequency and target outcomes.
Mentoring is a business investment. Choose carefully. So will I.
