In fine form

1–2 minutes

When busy work takes over, you can lose touch. Good for flow and hyper productivity but there are downsides. Check in on yourself. Writing helps – like I’m doing here. Attitude is key; fight for your passion but don’t deceive yourself. Have a fine day!

I’ve experienced equal parts of this state recently. This post is just a way for me to check in on myself, as you should from time to time.

You have to take a barometer reading of your mind, spirit and physical self – your state of being.

On the whole I’m in fine form 😎

I’m not digging too deeply. It’s a finger to the wind type of test.

That’s fine. Not everything requires deep self interrogation to find meaning and lessons. Sometimes we seek too deeply for meaning in our experiences.

It’s enough to feel and sense using your intuition. You’ll know instinctively where you are at. It’s a typical approach for a DharmaHacker.

Writing is a really useful way of sense checking too – I’ve covered this before: Writing with intent – new directions for InnerVentures. It’s why I’m writing this post, to get everything out on paper so to speak.

Two other important things I consider when I carry out such an exercise.

Attitude is everything

Attitude is in our control and can influence our state of mind. Right timing on the other hand is a chance. In other words, don’t wait for the right time to feel fine. Create your own fine. What’s right attitude? It’s a war within us, against fear, self-doubt, apathy, misery. Try relentlessly to fight for your own passion – this is the winning attitude. To wait for the right time is not.

Don’t deceive yourself

As Milarepa said, my religion is not to deceive myself. If this entire exercise seems reverential and almost religious, that’s as it should be. Whatever you do though, don’t deceive yourself. In taking the right attitude, don’t mask problems or underlying issues. See things clearly. Correct what’s wrong or seek help with doing it.

Wishing you all a fine day ☀️
