SenseMaking from the Web is a curated list of recent articles I’ve read and thought worth sharing with my subscribers. I’ve automated this but the curation, which is a discerning process, is all human. I’ve added some commentary.
This large collection has a decidedly end of year feel. Topics have been categorised and summarised below. Top of the list is unsurprising but some old favourites too.
AI and Technology
Articles discussing how AI agents are replacing traditional enterprise applications and how companies like Accenture and Nvidia are scaling them for business use. But all is not exactly rosy and AI adoption has challenges. Several articles highlight its impact on tech debt and the struggles companies face in achieving and scaling AI value. Research on AI adoption identifies fintech, software, and banking as sectors with the highest concentration of AI leaders.
Innovation
Startups vs. corporate giants, in terms of how they innovate, makes a welcome return. Since my trend report on the subject, I haven’t been paying as much attention so good to see. An article explores how small startups are outmanoeuvring large corporations through agility and innovation. In another, corporate reinvention is emphasised. Businesses must adapt their architecture and mindset to stay competitive in an AI-first future but cautions against the big promises of AI, urging a healthy dose of scepticism.
Personal Development and Mindset
An article explores science-backed ways to recalibrate the mind and thrive in a fast-paced world. A story about how a computer scientist accidentally launched the deep learning boom. And reflections on the radical optimism of David Graeber and his belief in the power of ordinary people to change the world.
Onto the list.
