This DanelDoodle is a play on an original Tom Gauld cartoon and I create it with the utmost respect for a master doodler and sense maker. His cartoon, which I cannot find on his site that I linked to, was around (social) revolution – part in brackets mine. Mine focuses on an area of work I am often involved in and the observation in the cartoon is something I have encountered frequently in my career. A few brief notes on this below the image.
How many times have you seen a courageous leader or individual stand up with a brave new idea, only for reality to bite back harshly?
Is it the fault of the person (and how they communicate), idea or the human wall of resistance, as I refer to it?
Often all of the above but I would venture to say that most often its people’s natural disinclination to change that is at fault.
The easy route is often the least effective.
That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try or stop being bold in having courageous ideas or speaking out about them 💪🚀
